Jared Goff won't be the only new quarterback in Detroit next season.
The Lions have agreed to a one-year, $2.5 million deal with former Packers backup QB Tim Boyle, according to the NFL Network.
"A cult figure in Green Bay," says Mike Garafolo.
Signed by the Packers as an undrafted free agent in 2018, Boyle handled hand-offs and kneel-downs in mop-up duty for Aaron Rodgers -- typically with Green Bay in the lead. Hence, 18 rushes for minus-16 yards the past two seasons.
Boyle did show an arm in college, leading the Ohio Valley Conference in passing yards as a redshirt senior at Eastern Kentucky. Then again, he threw 12 touchdowns and 26 picks in his college career.
The Lions were in need of a backup for Goff after releasing Chase Daniel this week.
