Lions sign returner and deep threat in Kalif Raymond

The Lions need a new return man after the departure of Jamal Agnew.

Kalif Raymond could be their guy.

Detroit has signed Raymond to a one-year deal, according to his agency.

Raymond averaged 9.4 yards on punt returns and 20.5 yards on kicks returns over the last two seasons with the Titans. Agnew, for comparison, averaged 10.7 yards on punt returns and 27.5 yards on kick returns over the same span with the Lions.

Raymond, who clocked a 4.34 40-yard dash at his 2016 pro day, also proved himself as a deep threat in Tennessee. He caught nine passes for 170 yards in 2019 and nine passes for 187 yards -- more than 20 yards per catch -- in 2020.

He could help the Lions replace Marvin Hall, who averaged 23 yards per catch in Detroit over the last two seasons.
