The Lions continue to add pieces to their secondary, a secondary that allowed the most touchdowns and third most yards in the NFL last season.
Detroit has signed veteran safety Dean Marlowe, the club announced Thursday.
Marlowe spent the past three seasons with the Bills, where he had a breakout performance in 2020. He notched three passes defended, two picks, 22 tackles and 1.5 sacks in 15 games, all career highs. He was also a significant contributor on special teams.
In Detroit, Marlowe will join a safety corps headlined by Tracy Walker. Will Harris and C.J. Moore will also vie for playing time in 2021. It remains a position of need heading into the draft.
Marlow, 28, is the third defensive back the Lions have signed in the past week, joining CB's Corn Elder and Quinton Dunbar.
