Matt Prater is off to Arizona after seven seasons with the Lions. Randy Bullock is arriving in his stead.
Detroit is finalizing a deal with the veteran kicker, according to Tom Pelissero.
Bullock has spent the past four seasons with the Bengals, converting 85 percent of his field goals. He went 21-26 (81 percent) last season, including 10-13 from 40 yards or more and 3-5 from 50 or more.
Prater, by comparison, converted 83.3 percent of his field goals the past four seasons in Detroit. He went 21-28 (75 percent) last season, including 10-17 from 40 yards or more and 6-10 from 50 or more.
While Prater hit a number of clutch kicks for the Lions, he's coming off arguably the worst season of his career and turns 37 in August. Bullock is 31.
It was a busy Thursday for the Lions, with the team also signing WR Breshad Perriman and reportedly agreeing to a deal with DE Charles Harris.
