In the context of the first three weeks of the season, this qualifies as good news for the Lions: Amon-Ra St. Brown likely won't be out long with an ankle injury -- if he's out at all.
St. Brown twisted his ankle in the first half of Sunday's loss to the Vikings, limiting him for the rest of the game. His status for Week 4 is up in the air, but St. Brown underwent tests Monday 'and the results were encouraging,' per the NFL Network.
They Lions plan to 'be cautious,' with their leading receiver, 'but if St. Brown misses time, it shouldn’t be anything long-term,' per the report.
The Lions will take it. They just lost starting safety and co-captain Tracy Walker for the season to a torn Achilles, and running back D'Andre Swift might not play until after their Week 6 bye due to a sprained shoulder.
This is on top of injuries to Pro Bowl offensive linemen Jonah Jackson (finger) and Frank Ragnow (groin/foot) and a potentially season-ending injury to starting guard Halapoulivaati Vaitai (back).
If St. Brown only misses a game or two, the Lions won't complain.
