The Lions’ ring of honor has its 20th member, as former lineman and current radio analyst Lomas Brown was inducted into the Pride of the Lions at halftime of Monday’s game against the Raiders.
Brown, the Lions’ No. 6 overall pick in the 1985 NFL Draft, spent the first 10 seasons of his career with Detroit, starting all but one of the 164 games he played for the team.
Brown made six Pro Bowls and had three All-Pro selections – including the First-Team in 1995 – during his time with the Lions, which included four playoff appearances in his last five seasons.
He went on to one more Pro Bowl appearance with the Cardinals and earned a Super Bowl ring with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2003.
Brown becomes the 20th member of the Pride of the Lions, which was first unveiled in 2009. The most recently inducted player was Chris Spielman in 2021.
He says he was surprised by the announcement, which Lions President Rod Wood made during the radio broadcast of the Lions preseason home opener against the Giants.
“Lomas was a fundamental piece of our team success in the 90s and enjoyed a long and greatly successful NFL career,” Wood said, per a press release.
Brown will serve as co-Grand Marshal of Detroit's Thanksgiving Parade later this fall.
