Juwan Howard and Michigan have added a needed veteran to next year's squad.
The Wolverines landed a commitment Wednesday from Tennessee transfer Olivier Nkamhoua, according to On3Sports. He chose Michigan over Baylor, West Virginia and Kansas State.
A 6'8 forward from Finland, Nkamhoua averaged 10.8 points and 5.0 rebounds in 36 games last season, while shooting 33.3 percent from three. He ranked No. 58 among players in the portal, per 247 Sports.
A four-year player and two-year starter at Tennessee, Nkamhoua will help the Wolverines make up for losing their top three scorers from last season in center Hunter Dickinson, who transferred to Kansas, and guards Kobe Bufkin and Jett Howard, who left for the NBA.
Michigan went 18-16 last season and missed the NCAA Tournament for the first time in eight years. Its incoming recruiting class, which features just one player in shooting guard George Washington III, ranks No. 76 in the nation, per 247 Sports.
The Wolverines have also added transfers Tray Jackson from Seton Hall and Nimari Burnett from Alabama.
