Closing in on the start of the NFL season, Stoney and Jansen predict the winners of each of the major individual awards in 2024. Will any hardware be coming to Detroit?

Offensive Rookie of the Year
Stoney: Cardinals WR Marvin Harrison Jr.

Jansen: Broncos QB Bo Nix. "One, it's the opportunity. I do believe he'll be the starting quarterback. And Sean Payton will have 100% control over what Bo Nix does, and I think he is a great fit for that offense."

Defensive Rookie of the Year
Jansen: Lions CB Terrion Arnold. "The Lions throughout a majority of the season are going to be playing with the lead, so there's going to be a lot of throws at Terrion Arnold. They're going to test him often, early and all season long, so some of it's just a matter of opportunity. I think he's going to have some decent numbers and continue to improve over the course of the year.

Comeback Player of the Year
Stoney: Jets QB Aaron Rodgers.

Jansen: Falcons QB Kirk Cousins: "With Bijan Robinson as his running back, it takes a lot of pressure off of him. They're going to be able to run the football and then I think Kyle Pitts has the year we've waited and wanted to see since he came out. I think it's an opportunity for this team to take a gigantic step in a division that's not that strong. They could be a team that not only makes the playoffs, but wins a playoff game."

Assistant Coach of the Year
Jansen: Jets DC Jeff Ulbrich.

Stoney: Lions OC Ben Johnson.

Offensive Player of the Year
Stoney: Dolphins WR Tyreek Hill. "He might talk way too much smack, but he is still, in my opinion, the greatest receiver in the game."

Jansen: Dolphins WR Tyreek Hill. "Same a quarterback and same system now third year in a row, I think they're going to be put up ridiculous numbers."

Defensive Player of the Year
Jansen: Raiders DE Maxx Crosby. "A guy that has always been scratching at the surface. He is a dominant player, can take over a game and I think this is the year where he gets full recognition for what he does on the football field."

Coach of the Year
Stoney: Raheem Morris, Falcons. "I want to say Dan Campbell, but Coach of the Year always seems to go to the unexpected guy, the team that does better than many people thought."

Jansen Shane Steichen, Colts. "Losing Anthony Richardson last year was a huge blow, they still won nine games. And now with Jonathan Taylor, Adonai Mitchell, Michael Pittman Jr, it's still going to be a really good defense, I think this is a team with Anthony Richardson that could really do some damage."

Most Valuable Player
Jansen: Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes. "Until he's knocked off that pedestal, every single year I'll be picking Mahomes as the preseason prediction to win MVP."
