With the NFL Draft approaching, the Lions are one of only two teams slated to bring in Will Anderson for a top-30 visit.
The Lions are hosting the star Alabama pass rusher later this week, per the NFL Network. It's unlikely that Anderson will be available to Detroit with the No. 6 pick, but the club could always trade up.
The Texans, who pick No. 2, are the only team that's hosted Anderson for a visit so far. The other teams at the top of the board could already be sold on what they've seen; Anderson is considered a can't-miss prospect.
They could also be committed to drafting a quarterback. And with Arizona reportedly taking offers for the No. 3 pick, the top four picks could all be quarterbacks. That would set up the Lions to draft either Anderson or Georgia defensive tackle Jalen Carter, arguably the two most talented players on the board.
Carter, of course, comes with far more question marks than Anderson. The dream scenario for Detroit, as projected by ESPN's Mel Kiper Jr. in his latest mock draft, is that Anderson, the two-time SEC Defensive Player of the Year, falls to No. 6 after four quarterbacks and Carter are selected in the first five picks.
The Lions are doing their final homework just in case -- or they're preparing to make a move up the board.
