Sam LaPorta left the Lions' win over the Texans with a shoulder injury, but could be back as soon as Sunday's game against the Jaguars.
The Pro Bowl tight end sprained his AC joint in the third quarter of Detroit's come-from-behind victory and did not return. Dan Campbell said Monday that LaPorta is "day to day" and that the Lions don't fear that it's going to be "a long, nagging injury."
"I think we'll get through it," Campbell said.
Campbell added that the Lions are "hopeful" that LaPorta will be able to suit up on Sunday, "but I can't say that (yet). He's questionable."
LaPorta hasn't matched his numbers from his historic rookie season, but still plays a valuable role in one of the best offenses in the NFL. He's caught 25 passes for 366 yards and three touchdowns through nine games, including three catches for 66 yards and a touchdown against the Texans.
As for Taylor Decker, who missed the Texans game after injuring his shoulder in practice last week, Campbell said that Detroit's starting left tackle is likewise "questionable" to play against the Jags "but trending the right way."
