The vibes Downtown Detroit Sunday for the Lions’ season opener were immaculate. Expectations are unlike we’ve ever seen with this team, and fans showed up in a big way, both before and during the game.

But the Seahawks pumped the brakes on the Lions hype train a little bit. Despite blowing a 10-point lead in the fourth quarter, Seattle came away with a 37-31 win in overtime.

Detroit pulled within a field goal with just over 3:00 to play on a Josh Reynolds touchdown, then came up with a massive sack of Geno Smith to force a punt.

Riley Patterson sent the game to overtime with a 38-yard field goal as time expired in regulation.

But Geno Smith threw a third-down strike to Tyler Lockett, who extended the ball to the pylon for the walk-off touchdown.
