Stafford trade gives Rams big boost in Super Bowl odds. As for the Lions?


The Rams weren't worried about 'winning the trade' in acquiring Matthew Stafford. They were worried about winning the Super Bow.

With Stafford under center, the Rams' odds of winning it all next season jumped from 25-1 to 12-1, according to That's tied with the Bills, Packers and Bucs for the second best odds in the NFL. The Chiefs (5-1) are the outright favorite.

As for the Lions?

They were going to be longshots either way. They've finished last in their division three straight seasons. They have a new head coach and a new GM. They're at the outset of a substantial rebuild.

But with Stafford gone and Jared Goff arriving in his stead, the Lions dropped from 66-1 to 75-1 -- tied with the Bengals, Broncos, Jaguars and Jets for the worst odds in the league.

Hey, you never know.
