By now, you've probably heard the quote. After the Lions blew another fourth-quarter lead under Matt Patricia in Sunday's season-opener against the Lions, Patricia was asked if 'something in your coaching' isn't working late in games.

The former defensive coordinator of the Patriots pointed to Malcolm Butler's game-winning interception in Super Bowl XLIX as proof that he knows what he's doing. In almost the same breath, Patricia said he doesn't want to live in the past.

The answer left many Lions fans angry, including Stoney, who unloaded on Patricia Monday morning.

"That’s what he comes up with? 'I think I’ve got one of the biggest plays in the fourth quarter in the history of the NFL where I think I did a pretty good job.' That’s not here!" Stoney said. "(The question was about) your tenure here! Detroit! Not New England! (In) New England you had Tom Brady, you had Bill Belichick, you had players who bought into a culture. You don’t have that here!

"Don’t bring up what you did in New England — after a devastating, disgusting, heartbreaking loss that these fans have to put up with year after year. Matt Patricia, don’t go play your resume! It doesn’t wash here!!"

We're guessing most listeners agree.
