Lions trade down twice and go defense in Stoney's mock 3.0

It is Draft Day and thus time for my (thankfully) final mock draft.

The Broncos getting Teddy Bridgewater from Carolina for a sixth-round pick should allow Denver to take what's available without trading up from No. 9. This seemingly eliminates Denver as a trading partner with the Lions.

Forecasting trades is very difficult, so let's at least have some fun with the Lions as they make the only two trades in my mock. First, they trade down to No. 13 with the Chargers, then drop two more spots in a deal with New England.

From the Chargers they get: Nos. 13, 43, 77 and a 2022 fourth-rounder.

From the Patriots they get: a 2022 second-rounder.

So including their own picks, the Lions wind up with two second-rounders and three third-rounders this year, including five picks in the top 80. And they'd enter 2022 with two first-rounders, two second-rounders and two fourth-rounders.

As for who they select at No. 15, check out my Mock Draft 3.0 below:

1. Jaguars: Trevor Lawrence, QB, Clemson

2. Jets: Zach Wilson, QB, BYU

3. 49ers: Justin Fields, QB, Ohio State

4. Falcons: Kyle Pitts, TE, Florida

5. Bengals: Ja'Marr Chase, WR, LSU

6. Dolphins: Penei Sewell, OT, Oregon

7. Chargers from Lions: Christian Darrisaw, OT, Virginia Tech

8. Panthers: Rashawn Slater, OT, Northwestern

9. Broncos: Trey Lance, QB, North Dakota State

10. Cowboys: Jaycee Horn, CB, South Carolina

11. Giants: Jaelen Phillips, DE, Miami

12. Eagles: Jaylen Waddle, WR, Alabama

13. Patriots from Lions via Chargers: Mac Jones, QB, Alabama

14. Vikings: Alijah Vera-Tucker, OT, USC

15. Lions from Patriots: Patrick Surtain II, CB, Alabama

Why: It's a passing league. You can’t have enough corners. Surtain played in the best conference in college against some of the best QB's, and the Lions play in a division with Aaron Rodgers. They also face Russell Wilson and Matthew Stafford this season.

16. Cardinals: Jaycee Horn, CB, South Carolina

17. Raiders: Micah Parsons, LB, Penn State

18. Dolphins: Devonta Smith, WR, Alabama

19. WFT: Teven Jenkins, OT, Oklahoma State

20. Bears: Trevon Moehrig, S, TCU

21. Colts: Kwity Paye, DE, Michigan

22. Titans: Greg Newsome, CB, Northwestern

23. Jets: Azeez Ojulari, OLB, Georgia

24. Steelers: Alex Leatherwood, OT, Alabama

25. Jaguars: Gregory Rousseau, DE, Miami

26: Browns: Carlos Basham Jr., DE, Wake Forest

27. Ravens: Jayson Oweh, DE, Penn State

28. Saints: Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah, LB, Notre Dame

29. Packers: Rashod Bateman, WR, Minnesota

30. Bills: Joe Tryon, DE, Washington

31. Chiefs: Elijah Moore, WR, Ole Miss

32. Bucs: Najee Harris, RB, Alabama
