Derrick Rose is off to another strong start for the Pistons, who are off to another season of building for the future. Let the trade rumors begin.

At least two teams have already expressed interest in Rose, according to The Athletic, with the trade deadline still two months away: the Knicks and the Clippers. A trade to New York would reunite him with Tom Thibodeau, his head coach in Chicago and Minnesota.

Rose went through this last year, with Detroit ultimately opting to hold onto him at the deadline. They valued his veteran leadership more than the offers on the table. It will be interesting to see if they lower their price this year, with Rose in the final year of his contract.

And with new GM Troy Weaver calling the shots.

Rose, 32, has given Detroit steady scoring off the bench for the second season in a row. His 14.8 points per game rank second in the NBA among players averaging fewer than 25 minutes a night. His 4.6 assists rank fourth. He's been inactive for the past two games due to a knee issue, a situation to watch moving forward.

If Rose is able to sustain this level of production -- and stay healthy -- he'll have plenty of suitors ahead of the March 25 deadline. The question is what the Pistons will be willing to accept.
