After adding an elite defender with the No. 5 pick in Thursday night's NBA Draft, the Pistons traded back into the first round to take a premium shooter at No. 25 in Houston's Marcus Sasser.

Detroit sent pick No. 31 and two future second-rounders to the Celtics to move up six spots for the Player of the Year in the American Athletic Conference.

The 6'2 Sasser is known for his smooth shooting stroke and NBA range. He shot 40 percent from three and averaged 17.0 points per game over his final two seasons at Houston.

While his athletic upside is limited, Sasser is a competitive defender who has the experience after a four-year career at Houston to make an early impact in Detroit.

Both he and fifth overall pick Ausar Thompson should mesh well the Pistons' young core.
