Isaiah Stewart is one five players who has been suspended by the NBA for his role in the fight between the Pistons and Timberwolves last Sunday night.

After ending up in the middle of a scrum between Ron Holland and Donte DiVincenzo of the Timberwolves that spilled into the first row of the crowd in Milwaukee, Stewart has been suspended two games without pay "for escalating an on-court altercation," the NBA announced Tuesday.

While Holland, DiVincenzo, Marcus Sasser of the Pistons and Naz Reid of the Timberwolves were all suspended one game, Stewart got two "based in part on his repeated history of unsportsmanlike acts," per the NBA.

Stewart was also suspended three games last season for an off-court pregame altercation with Drew Eubanks of the Suns and two games in 2021 for his role in an altercation with LeBron James and the Lakers.

This was Stewart's third ejection of the season, and sixth of his career. He's also picked up four flagrant fouls and 14 technicals this season.

The incident with the Timberwolves started when Holland fouled Reid as Reid was driving to the basket in the second quarter, and Reid responded by confronting Holland and pointing in the rookie's face.

DiVincenzo, per the NBA, stepped in and "escalated the incident by shoving Holland in the chest. The two players along with Reid became entangled and fell into the spectator stands. Stewart and Sasser then entered the altercation near the spectator stands and shoved DiVincenzo and Reid, which resulted in a continued escalation of the situation."

Stewart will miss the Pistons' next two games Wednesday against the NBA-leading Thunder and Friday against the Raptors. Holland and Sasser will miss Wednesday's game as well.
