Troy Weaver isn't wasting time in his first draft as general manger of the Pistons.

Detroit swung a trade with the Rockets Wednesday night for Trevor Ariza and the 16th overall pick in exchange for a future first-round pick, according to Adrian Wojnarowski.

Weaver and the Pistons now have two first-round picks, headlined by No. 7.

Ariza, 35, averaged 8.0 points and shot 37 percent from three over 51 games last season with the Kings and Trail Blazers. The Pistons will pick up the rest of the two-year, $25 million deal he signed with Sacramento last offseason.

Detroit's future pick heading to Houston is top-16 protected for the next four years and could ultimately become a second-rounder, according to The Athletic.
