You may have heard Cade Cunningham was in Detroit on Monday. Literally, you may have heard the chants at the Tigers game with Cunningham in attendance -- he sure did.
The presumptive No. 1 pick in next week's NBA Draft was in town to visit with the Pistons ahead of a 'light workout' for the team on Tuesday, according to ESPN.
Cunningham, the 6'8 point-forward who's drawn comparisons to Grant Hill, would reportedly be 'extremely pleased to land in Detroit.' So much so that he's not planning to visit with any other teams. And the Pistons would surely be pleased to draft him.
But they're not closing up shop just yet. With the draft taking place next Thursday, the Pistons are also hosting guards Jalen Green and Jalen Suggs for private workouts later this week, according to ESPN, and they're trying to schedule a visit with center Evan Mobley. They haven't ruled out trading the top pick.
Green, Suggs and Mobley are considered the three best prospects in the draft after Cunningham. Green spent last season with the G League Ignite, averaging 17.9 points in 15 games. Suggs starred at Gonzaga where he averaged 14.4 points and 4.5 assists, while Mobley was Pac-12 Player of the Year at USC where he averaged 16.4 points and 8.7 rebounds.
