While the Pistons spent last spring dreaming of landing “unicorn” top pick Victor Wembanyama, it was the Spurs who lucked out in the lottery.

And that luck paid off Wednesday as Wembanyama recorded the first triple-double of his NBA career as San Antonio beat Detroit 130-108 for just their sixth win of the season.

Detroit, meanwhile, suffered its sixth consecutive loss, continuing what has become a “no-win January” on the heels of a record 28-game losing streak.

Wembanyama posted 16 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists. While it was his first triple-double, it was his 15th time putting up double-figure points and rebounds.

The highlight of Wemby's night was a lob from Cedi Osman for a reverse jam to start the fourth quarter.

While no Spurs player topped 20 points on Wednesday, eight of them eclipsed double digits, with Keldon Johnson leading the way with 17.

Detroit’s Jalen Duren had a game-high 21, while Bojan Bogdanovic had 19 of 3-of-5 three-point shooting.

The Pistons wrap up a three-game homestand Friday night, hosting the Houston Rockets.
