Captain Courtesy: Dylan Larkin spilled a fan's beer and sent him cash for more

Dylan Larkin is earning the 'C' in his second season as Red Wings captain. He leads the team in goals and points. He scored his first career hat trick last weekend in front of a sold-out crowd at Little Caesars Arena on his way to being named the NHL's First Star of the Week. And when Larkin spilled a fan's beer earlier in the week, he even bought the guy a new one.

What can't the captain do?

Larkin was mic'd up for Detroit's 2-1 win over the Islanders last Tuesday when he knocked over the beer of a fan sitting behind the net by bumping into the glass during warmups. Larkin felt so bad about it he skated over to the bench to ask Red Wings locker room attendant Rick Szuber if he could borrow $20 to get the fan a new beer.

Shortly thereafter, cameras showed Szuber delivering the money.

Larkin went on to score the opening goal in the Red Wings' win. He finished the week with five goals and seven points in three games and has 29 points in 27 games on the season.

The Red Wings have been shut down for at least the next week by a COVID-19 outbreak across their roster, but they currently occupy the second wild card spot in the East.
