The Red Wings and Robby Fabbri have been a good match. Now they're extending their marriage another three years.

Fabbri has agreed to a three-year, $12 million extension with the Wings that will keep him in Detroit through the 2024-25 season, the club announced Monday. He now has the longest term on the team moving forward.

The 25-year-old forward is third on the Wings in scoring with 32 goals and 63 points since arriving via trade early in the 2019-20 season, Steve Yzerman's first as GM. Yzerman sent forward Jacob de La Rose to the Blues for Fabbri, a former first-round pick whose career had stalled in St. Louis due to injuries.

Fabbri has since emerged as a key piece of Detroit's young core. He signed a two-year, $5.9 million deal with the club in 2020 that expires after this season; his extension marks a raise of about $1 million per year while keeping him off the unrestricted free agent market.

Fabbri has spent most of this season playing on the Wings' second line, though he's also filled in for Tyler Bertuzzi on the first line. He's fifth on the team with eight goals in 28 games and tied for the team lead with three power play goals.
