Tigers sweep White Sox thanks to Ibáñez's pinch hitting heroics in the 9th

The Tigers are off to a 3-0 start after pinch-hitting heroics from Andy Ibáñez.

With two on and two out in the 9th inning Sunday against the White Sox, Ibáñez stepped in for Parker Meadows and delivered a go-ahead single that plated pinch-runner Matt Vierling.

Jason Foley earned a two-out save in the bottom of the inning to help the Tigers win 3-2 and leave Chicago with a 3-game sweep over their AL Central rivals.

Jack Flaherty allowed one run on four hits across six innings in his Tigers debut.

Kerry Carpenter and Jake Rogers had solo home runs in the 4th and 5th innings to power the offense.

Detroit heads to New York Monday to open a three-game series with the Mets, with Reese Olson slated to start.
