The chase is on.
In snow globe-like conditions on Opening Day at Comerica Park, Miguel Cabrera blasted a two-run homer off reigning Cy Young champ Shane Bieber in his first at-bat of the season.
The snow was coming down so hard that Cabrera couldn't tell if the ball cleared the fence and slid into second fearing a throw from right field.
But fear not. The ball landed a couple rows deep and Miggy picked himself up and trotted home.
That brings Cabrera within 12 homers of 500 -- and 133 hits of 3,000, for those keeping track at home.
