To honor Miguel Cabrera, the Tigers organization unveiled a No. 24 sculpture made of 3,000 baseballs at Comerica Park, presented him with a signed seat from the ballpark and a custom-made pair of cleats and donated $24,000 to the Miguel Cabrera Foundation. That was on Saturday.
On Sunday, Cabrera's teammates may have done better.
To send the 40-year-old legend into retirement, they presented Cabrera with a ... mobility scooter when he arrived in the clubhouse before the final game of his career. Miggy, true to form, did a couple laps, laughing the whole way, and then zoomed out the door.
Cabrera was batting third Sunday at Comerica Park as he closes the book on his 21-year Hall of Fame career.
