The prospects continue to arrive in Detroit.

The Tigers went back to the well on Wednesday and called up Daz Cameron from Toledo to replace Christin Stewart, who was demoted after Detroit's win over Milwaukee on Tuesday.

Cameron, 23, ranks No. 7 among the Tigers' top 30 prospects, according to MLB Pipeline. The former first-round pick was acquired from Houston in the Justin Verlander trade in 2017.

The Tigers have now called up four of their top seven prospects in the past month. Cameron joins Casey Mize (No. 2), Tarik Skubal (No. 5) and Isaaac Paredes (No. 6) in Detroit, right in the middle of a playoff race.

The Tigers are one game behind the Yankees for the final AL playoff spot entering play Wednesday.

Cameron will give Ron Gardenhire and the Tigers another athletic outfielder with great speed. While his offense has been slow to develop, he stole 73 bases over his last three seasons in the minors.

The Tigers demoted Stewart in hopes he can find his swing in Toledo. He's hitting .171 with a .550 OPS over 33 games this season.

Ron Gardenhire told 97.1 The Ticket Wednesday morning it wasn't easy news to deliver.

"Stewart is one of the classiest kids you’ll ever meet in your life and a really nice young man. So for the manager, myself and the coaches, that’s hard. But we need him to go down there and see if he can find his swing. He just hasn’t got it right now.

"We love this kid, a beautiful young man who really works hard. He’s worked his tail off, he’s just not hitting right now. That’s the difficult side of it."
