A day after seeing a 4-1 lead slip away, the Tigers left no doubt on Sunday, as an eight-run fifth inning powered Detroit to a 10-2 win over the Brewers.
The offensive eruption was more than enough support to turn Tarik Skubal’s gem into a win. Skubal allowed one run on five hits across 6.2 innings to lower his ERA at 1.92 and push his record to 8-1 on the season.
Leading 2-0, a Gio Urshela single drove in a pair of runs before Zack McKinstry and Andy Ibanez chipped in with RBI-singles of their own to make it 7-0.
Jake Rogers blew the game wide open with a three-run shot to right field for his fifth home run of the season.
The Tigers have Monday off before opening a three-game series with the Nationals on Tuesday at Comerica Park.
