The streak is over.
After his two-run home run in the ninth inning sparked a game-tying rally, Spencer Torkelson notched a walk-off single to lift the Tigers to a 6-5 win over the Braves in 10 innings Monday night, snapping a nine-game losing streak.
Torkelson's sixth homer of the season pulled the struggling Tigers to within one run before Zack Short drove home Nick Maton to force extra innings.
Left fielder Andy Ibáñez, who finished a triple shy of the cycle, threw out the would-be go-ahead run in the top of the 10th.
Torkelson then smoked a pitch off former Tiger Joe Jimenez to end the game, delivering Detroit its first win in the month of June. Torkelson finished the night 3-for-6, his first three-hit game since May 9.
