On Monday, the Tigers introduced Eduardo Rodriguez. They might be introducing another addition to their rotation in the near future.
The Tigers are among eight clubs who have made an offer to left-handed pitcher Steven Matz, who's expected to make his decision soon, according to Jon Heyman.

Matz, 30, went 14-7 with a 3.82 ERA in 29 starts last season after signing a one-year, $8 million deal with the Blue Jays. You might know him best for giving up Miguel Cabrera's 500th home run.
Matz struggled in the 2020 COVID-shortened campaign, but has otherwise been a durable, reliable starter for most of his career. He broke in with the Mets late in the 2015 season and helped the club reach the World Series that fall.
Should he land in Detroit, Matz would fill out a rotation that currently features Casey Mize, Tarik Skubal, Matt Manning and the veteran Rodriguez, who signed a five-year, $77 million deal with the Tigers this month. The club also has to decide by Dec. 2 whether or not to tender a contract to pending free agent Matthew Boyd.
Spencer Turnbull, who posted a 2.88 ERA in nine starts last season, will most most if not all of next season recovering from Tommy John.
