If you wanted to see more of the Tigers pitching prospects this season you will have to wait till 2021.
Detroit Tigers GM Al Avila told reporters Thursday afternoon that Matt Manning and Alex Faedo will be shut down for the 2020 season due to right forearm strains.
"As opposed to trying to push this through and seeing if we can get them out of that in the short period of time we have left, we felt it would be more prudent to shut them down for the season at this point and continue the rehab process and then starting a throwing program and getting them ready for next year," Avila said.
According to MLB.com, Matt Manning, 22, is rated the third best Tigers prospect while Faedo, 21, is tenth.
