Tigers Won't Trade Schoop With Playoffs In Sight: Report

Al Avila suggested this month the Tigers might not be sellers at the trade deadline, a 180 from their approach the past three years.

He wasn't lying.

With the trade deadline just hours away, Detroit isn't taking offers on arguably its most attractive trade chip, second baseman Jonathan Schoop.

This is according to MLB Network's Jon Morosi.

Signed to a one-year, $6.1 million deal in the offseason, Schoop has been a great pick-up for the Tigers. He's hitting .296 with an .840 OPS and a team-high seven home runs.

He's been especially hot of late, helping the Tigers back into the playoff race. That's not a race the club has any intention of giving up on.

The trade deadline is Monday at 4 p.m.
