Michael Thomas caused a bit of a stir on X, formerly Twitter, during Sunday’s Saints game against the Detroit Lions.

The wide receiver, who was placed on the injured reserve on Nov. 21 with a knee injury, appeared to take shots at Derek Carr during the game before eventually deactivating his account.

When Carr threw an interception that went through the hands of Juwan Johnson and the Lions picked it off, Thomas tweeted, “AT wide open,” referencing wide receiver A.T. Perry.

When fans called him out for throwing shade at Carr, Thomas defended himself by tweeting, “Y’all said I was throwing shade not at all my eyes just work check yours.”

After Carr left the game in the fourth quarter with an injury and was replaced by Jameis Winston, Thomas tweeted, “God is with Jameis.”

Thomas’ account was deactivated after the game ended, a 33-28 loss.

Thomas is eligible to return from the IR in Week 16. Whether or not Carr will be healthy enough to play remains to be seen but it will make for an interesting dynamic if he is cleared and will take the field with Carr.
