SAN FRANCISCO (95.7 The Game) - Donte DiVincenzo's time with the Warriors has come to an end after just one season, as the free agent guard has agreed to a four-year, $50 million contract with the New York Knicks, according to multiple reports.

DiVencenzo declined his $4.7 million player option for the 2023-24 season this week after he showed enough playmaking, shooting, defense and hustle to earn a more lucrative multi-year contract on the open market. The Warriors didn't own his bird rights and were limited to what they could offer him to return.

"Donte has been fantastic," Warriors head coach Steve Kerr said earlier this offseason. "Donte is one of those guys who helps you in so many different ways that you can [put] him into any lineup and to me that's his true value."

The 26-year-old's deal with the Knicks allows him to return to the east coast and reunite with his former teammates at Villanova in guards Jalen Brunson and Josh Hart. DiVincenzo, a Deleware native, spent three-plus seasons with the Bucks after Milwaukee selected him with the 17th overall in the 2018 NBA Draft. He was traded to the Kings and completed the 2021-22 season with Sacramento.

DiVincenzo signed a two-year, $9.3 million deal with Golden State ahead of the 2022-23 season and came off the bench to begin his Warriors tenure before being thrust into the starting lineup when Andrew Wiggins was away from the team due to a personal matter. He averaged 10.3 points, 5.1 rebounds and 3.9 assists during that 25-game stretch, which included 24 starts. For the season, DiVincenzo averaged 9.4 points, 4.5 rebounds and 3.5 assists. He shot 43.5 percent from the field and 39.7 percent from three-point range.

In 273 career games, DiVincenzo averaged 9.1 points, 4.6 rebounds and 2.8 assists while shooting 42.0 percent from the field and 36.2 percent from deep.
