Yoooo! Certified Love Boy has a release date!…. we think. Not exactly sure how, but Drake might have hacked into ESPN’s SportsCenter live feed to sublimely announce the drop date of his highly anticipated album.

The super slick video reveal featured someone holding up a sign reading "CLB September 3" in-between some baseball highlights. Suss right? Okay, here’s what makes us think its facts. As per Rolling Stone, after reaching out, a representative for Drake “did not confirm” a September 3 release date, but did tell the publication that the video can be taken “at face value.”

Honestly though, it makes sense, because that announcement was  clearly the brain child of a marketing genius, which Drizzy no doubt is.

Obviously this news gets us the hypest of hype since we’ve been waiting for CLB to drop for what seems like forever.

Drake first announced Certified Lover Boy, as his formal Scorpion follow-up, in August 2020 when he also released “Laugh Now Cry Later.” A few months after that he teased a January 2021 release, but the album, of course was never released. Instead, Drake dropped his Scary Hours 2 EP, featuring three tracks and hopped on some features including Nicki Minaj’s “Seeing Green,” Brent Faiyaz’s “Wasting Time,” and Trippie Redd’s “Betrayal” to name a few.

However in late July, Drake informed us that his new “album’s cooked,” during an appearance on Sound 42’s Fri Yiy Friday show. Adding, “Certified Lover Boy on the way, and that’s for anyone in the way.”

Speaking of, seems as though the recent listed date for Kanye West’s Donda is also September 3. That date, however, has been consistently changed throughout the albums rollout, so odds are this is just another placeholder date. But then again, it’s Ye — so he just might.

But okay, enough of that, while not officially confirmed, we’re most likely than not gonna get Drake’s album next week. And we’re sticking to that notion until we’re told otherwise.
