A poker player from Texas visited the Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas and fulfilled a gambler's dream. He won a jackpot of $897,000.

The player achieved an "incredibly rare" seven-card straight flush, which is one of the best hands in poker. The winning cards for the lucky gambler were a 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, and jack in hearts.

A straight flush requires five consecutive cards of the same suit.

And according to two-plus-two, a natural seven-card straight flush in a standard deck of 52 cards has a probability of 1 in 10,000,000. "This is significantly less likely than other common poker hands like a flush, 3.03%, or a full house, 2.60%" the data site found.

"This kind of moment adds to the excitement we’re seeing across the casino floor right now,” said Laura De La Cruz, Vice President of Marketing at Palms Casino Resort. She underscored their "recently enhanced table game odds—including $5 Blackjack and Craps available 24/7—and exclusive Club Serrano promotions, there’s never been a better time to play at Palms.

"We’re focused on creating real value and memorable experiences for every type of guest.”
