LOS ANGELES (KNX) – Former Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson was arrested for domestic violence at Los Angeles International Airport Sunday.

A representative for Peterson and his wife Ashley told TMZ, that the two had “a verbal argument on a flight” which resulted in Peterson being removed from the flight.

“This is a private misunderstanding between husband and wife and we anticipate it will all be resolved shortly,” Peterson’s rep told the outlet.

TMZ reported that airport police responded to a plane that was bound for Houston at 8:30 a.m. over a “verbal and physical disturbance” between a man and woman, which was later revealed to be Peterson and his wife.

After a preliminary investigation, including alerts to the FBI, Peterson was arrested.

The outlet noted that while Peterson was taken off the plane, his wife stayed on board.
