Like pretty much all Falcons fans, 'Vinny' has heard enough about 28-3.
Unlike most Falcons fans, he had a grand stage to tell a heckler how he felt about it.
While getting a chance to announce the Atlanta Falcons' seventh-round pick DeMarcco Hellams on Saturday afternoon, Vinny clapped back at an opposing fan chirping about 28-3. And he got a chance to talk about that viral moment on Monday morning's The Steakhouse with Steak and Sandra.
Not originally scheduled to announce the pick, Vinny was called into action late Friday night, and jumped at the opportunity to be a part of the draft, as he was already in Kansas City.
"They (the Falcons) sent me a text asking me how would you like to participate on Saturday," he said. "And I was just like 'Absolutely!'"
In full Falcons regalia, equipped with an Atlanta championship belt, and a very hoarse voice from a weekend of doing it up in KC, Vinny took to the stage, where he heard a very familiar jeer from the front section, 28-3. Not wanting to let the moment pass, he fired back.
"We go to so many different away games throughout the season and we just constantly get that 28-3," he said. "That's always my comeback when I hear it. So when I heard it, I just immediately went into that mode."
"It was like, yeah, 28-3. Good one, We've heard that one before."
Vinny enjoyed that moment. His wife, as he put it bluntly, "was somewhere rolling her eyes."
Outside of the draft experience itself, what did Vinny think about what the Falcons did over the weekend, and the offseason in general?
"I think we've done really well in the draft," he said. "We've done super well in the offseason. We finally had some money to work with. Out front office is doing amazing."
