RADIO.COM Sports NFL Week 15 expert picks
We've reached the point of the season where the NFL MVP battle is being monitored in the same way that the races for the bye seed in each conference are.
Ahead of Week 15, arguably the two most talented quarterbacks in NFL history - Patrick Mahomes and Aaron Rodgers - find themselves at the forefront of the race for the league's most prestigious award.
Mahomes, the 2018 NFL MVP, has had another astonishing season, tossing 33 touchdowns to just five interceptions, while racking up over 4,200 passing yards. The defending Super Bowl Champion Kansas City Chiefs are 12-1, and have managed to live up to the sky-high expectations set for the team at the outset of the season.
Rodgers, already a two-time NFL MVP, has put together his best season in years, tossing a league-leading 39 touchdowns, while throwing just four interceptions. Rodgers has thrown for nearly 600 less yards than Mahomes, but for as dominant as Davante Adams has been in 2020, there's not doubt anyone would trade Rodgers' weapons for the ones that Mahomes has. At 10-3, the Packers are currently the No. 1 seed in the NFC, and when you consider that Rodgers is 37, you wonder if some voters may lean his way because this could be his final chance to win the award again.
So, as you watch the Packers host the Carolina Panthers and the Chiefs visit the New Orleans Saints this week, remember that there's more on the line than just a first-round bye in each conference.
