RADIO.COM Sports NFL Week 10 expert picks
With the No. 5 pick in the 2020 NFL Draft, the Miami Dolphins elected to draft former Alabama quarterback Tua Tagovailoa, over Justin Herbert, who had played his collegiate ball at Oregon.
Should you draw sweeping conclusions from the first time that the two meet head-to-head? Probably not. But there's a very real chance that will be exactly what happens Sunday evening, after Tagovailoa and the Dolphins host Herbert and the Los Angeles Chargers.
Herbert was forced into action in Week 2, and individually, he's flashed superstar potential. There's some that believe he's looked as good, if not better, than Joe Burrow, the No. 1 overall pick. In seven starts, Herbert has tossed 17 touchdowns, to just five picks, displaying one of the better arms in the sport. Unfortunately for him, the Chargers are just 1-6 in games he's started, with every loss coming by a touchdown or less.
Meanwhile, Tagovailoa didn't get a chance to start until Week 8, but he's already earned more wins as a starter than Herbert, going 2-0 in his first two NFL starts. While he wasn't asked to do much in a Week 8 victory over the Los Angeles Rams, Tagovailoa was excellent in a Week 9 victory over the Arizona Cardinals, firmly injecting himself into the discussion for the most exciting quarterback in this rookie class.
As we prepare for a battle between the Chargers and Dolphins, let's look at the records of each of our RADIO.COM Sports central team members on picks this year:
