It would be the second-largest contract in franchise history behind José Ramírez's five-year, $124 million contract extension signed last year.
With the club option exercised, it could be an eight-year, $128 million deal for Giménez.
Giménez is entering his fourth season, third with the Guardians after being acquired as part of the Francisco Lindor trade with the Mets in January 2021, and he is coming off a breakout year that saw him hit .297 with 17 home runs and 69 RBI.
Giménez started at second base for the American League in the All-Star game and won his first career Gold Glove last season.
Giménez, who finished sixth in league MVP voting in 2022, was eligible for arbitration beginning in 2024 and free agency in 2027 prior to the new agreement that keeps him in Cleveland at least through 2030.
