CLEVELAND, OH - The Cleveland Guardians have agreed to a deal with left-handed pitcher Matthew Boyd, according to Jon Heyman of the New York Post. The deal will be a major league deal, according to Mark Feinsand of MLB.com.
Boyd, 33, is almost 12 months off of Tommy John surgery that he underwent last season. Prior to the injury, he had a 5-5 record with the Detroit Tigers, with a 5.45 ERA, 73 strikeouts and 25 walks in 71 innings across 15 starts in 2023.
The Guardians have yet to announce the move, and will need to make a roster move on the 40-man roster if it is a major league contract.
