It doesn't sound like Ian Rapoport lost much sleep over Aaron Rodgers’ recent remarks about him.

Last week, Rodgers said in his weekly appearance on the “Pat McAfee Show” that he planned to go on a darkness retreat to mull over his football future. The NFL Media insider later reported that said trip was beginning Monday.

That clearly was not the case, with Rodgers making his typical Tuesday appearance on McAfee this week.

Asked about the report, Rodgers said Rapoport and Adam Schefter “don’t know s–t” about him -- adding that they don’t have access to his inner circle.

Rapoport offered his response Thursday in his weekly “Tiki & Tierney” appearance.

“I would say one of the things about doing what I do – and it’s the same thing really for anyone that is pretty public – is you report information and you do the best you can with making sure that it is accurate, timely,” Rapoport said. “You want to be right, you want to be first, all that stuff, and then whatever happens with the info, I sort of never mind.

“I’ve never minded being in the crosshairs of anyone, especially when it’s just because of me doing my job. So I put the info out there, Rogers can react however he wants to react. I don’t take offense, if I see him I would not be angry. To me, this is all part of it. Like, I say something and then people are allowed to react. Rogers has never been shy about speaking his mind, so to me it’s all fine.”

As Rapoport alluded to, this is something that goes with the territory for someone in his position. Rodgers can be annoyed, but clearly Rapoport felt confident enough with his sourcing to not sweat the fact that the information ultimately wasn’t correct.
