The remnants of Hurricane Ida barreled its way through the northeast Wednesday night, leaving record flooding along its path of destruction from Philadelphia to New York.
Among one of the more surreal scenes in the aftermath of the storm was TD Bank Ballpark in Bridgewater, NJ, home of the New York Yankees Double-A affiliate Somerset Patriots where the entire field was submerged under water.
Patriots President and General Manager Patrick McVerry released a statement through the team’s Twitter account about the damage.
“The ballpark flooded like much of the surrounding area. We are in the process of evaluating to what extend and the damage caused,” he said. “In the meantime, we are thinking about al our neighbors dealing with flooding of their homes and businesses and hope everybody is safe.”

Fortunately, the Patriots are on the road in Bowie, Md. to play the Baltimore Orioles affiliate Bowie Baysox the remainder of the weekend.
The Patriots’ next home game is scheduled for Tuesday, Sept. 7.
While the damage is still being assessed, it is unclear if it is substantial enough where Tuesday’s game could be in jeopardy.
