No one this year in the NFL has thrown for more yards (3,921) than Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa.
Tagovailoa's favorite target, Tyreek Hill, leads the league in receiving yards (1,542) and touchdown catches (12).
Names like Brock Purdy, Dak Prescott (Miami plays Dallas this weekend), Josh Allen, and Patrick Mahomes riddle the stat sheets each week, and the roller-coaster race for MVP has been riveting to watch. When Brian Baldinger joined The Joe Rose Show on Wednesday, he raved about a quarterback who's highlight reels have been dizzying.
"In a league full of stars, Lamar (Jackson) is the biggest star," Baldy said. "What he did to Jacksonville on Sunday night, I was getting dizzy just watching him run around. In the film room I was getting dizzy watching him elude defenders and make one good throw and one good decision after another. He's playing at a very high level."
As AFC teams jockey for the conference's No. 1 seed, Baldinger explained that Baltimore might be tough to chase down.
"Defensively they're the best defense in football right now," Baldy told The Joe Rose Show. "They kind of prove it every weekend. I've seen Seattle go in there, I've seen all kinds of teams go to Baltimore and they just get taken apart. Detroit goes to Baltimore this year, they took 'em apart. Trevor Lawrence last week couldn't get the ball down the field at all against this defense. They're really sound."
