The Jets will enter the 2023 season with a level of expectation that the franchise hasn’t experienced in decades.
With Aaron Rodgers leading the way, the Offensive and Defensive Rookies of the Year both in the fold, and Dalvin Cook signing on Monday, Gang Green is expected to be a contender in the AFC and end its extended playoff drought.
Still, Robert Saleh tells Joe and Evan that he’s not feeling pressure to live up to those expectations.
“Expectations, here, what I’ve learned…It’s 17-0 or you suck,” Saleh said. “That goes without saying.
“That’s not where the pressure lies. It’s in waking up every day and trying to get better. That’s how you get the result that we want and that we expect.”
The Jets accomplished their offseason goals by getting Rodgers, and they believed when last season ended that they were a quarterback away from contending. Now begins the journey to prove themselves right.
“It’s like, ‘Well now what?’” Saleh said. “Let’s get to the field and keep the main thing the main thing. Keep finding ways to get better, we’ll make plays and win football games.”
