Joel Embiid broke out a particularly animated celebration after scoring a driving basket while drawing a foul to put the 76ers up by 14 midway through the third quarter on Wednesday night, and Kevin Durant clearly wasn’t a fan.
“Trash celebration,” Durant tweeted, tagging Embiid in the tweet.
After the Sixers finished off their win over the Nets, Embiid sent his response, a video with the caption “suck it,” while the video included a compilation of Embiid breaking out a similar celebration in other moments during his career, along with clips of wrestlers doing an identical gesture.
Embiid stepped up to the microphone for his postgame presser shortly after sending his reply, and could barely contain himself from laughing, proud of his reply to Durant.
Meanwhile, Durant likely wished he was on the court battling Embiid, rather than tweeting while recovering from injury.
“Damn, I miss talking s--t to Joel and Montrezl [Harrell],” Durant also tweeted during the game.
