The NFL Draft has come and gone and despite a poor attempt at a joke from Odell Beckham Jr., Deebo Samuel is remains a 49er.
So, where do things stand between the disgruntled receiver and his team?
GM John Lynch was asked on Saturday if the team had received any more phone calls inquiring about Samuel and if anything has changed.
“There wasn’t,” Lynch said, per ProFootballTalk. “Nothing’s changed.”
Lynch and the 49ers have stood firm that they want to work things out with Samuel and do not wish to trade him. They even reportedly turned down offers from the Lions and Jets.
Samuel, on the other hand, wants to be traded and reportedly even insisted the 49ers not offer him an extension.

Lynch has maintained all along that the 49ers are “confident” they can work out a solution with Samuel, who has declined to report for voluntary offseason team activities.
Teams could still trade for Samuel, although the draft was seen as perhaps the best opportunity to make a deal happen. It remains to be seen if the 49ers will indeed offer Samuel an extension and if he is willing to accept it.
The 49ers’ mandatory minicamp is scheduled June 15-17 with training camp expected to begin in late July.
Should there be no solution by either of those dates could result in Samuel holding out, adding further intrigue to his future.
