Steve Kerr will be moving on from Team USA after a two year commitment. Kerr told Joe Vardon of The Athletic he will not coach beyond the 2024 Olympics in Paris next Summer.
"To me, it's a two-year; it's a cycle. Pop coached a World Cup and the Olympics, now it's my turn to pass the baton. I think that's kind of how it should be. Frankly, it's a huge commitment too," Kerr told Vardon.
Team USA is coming off a disappointing showing in the World Cup over the summer failing to medal and finishing fourth overall and looking to rebound in Paris next year.
That disappointment has many more star players including the Warriors Stephen Curry considering joining up for the Paris games.
Kerr was named head coach of Team USA in December 2021 and has just this season remaining on his contract with the Warriors as Golden State has gotten off to a 5-2 start in seven games.
