Lane Johnson explains the 'personal matter' that kept him from playing three Eagles games

The right tackle took to Twitter to thank fans for their support

PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Eagles right tackle Lane Johnson has missed the last three games because of a "personal matter." Monday morning, the 31-year-old All-Pro right tackle offered more details on what he has been dealing with.

Johnson tweeted, in part, that "Depression and anxiety are things I've dealt with for a long time and have kept hidden from my friends and family. If you're reading this and struggling, please know that you are not alone."

Johnson thanked everyone for understanding and showing support, as well as the positive messages he has received.

"I am excited to re-join my teammates and coaches," Johnson said in his statement. "I'm grateful for the entire Eagles community and look forward to continuing to play in front of the best fans in the world!"

Johnson was a late scratch before the Eagles loss to Kansas City on October 3, then missed the following matchups at the Panthers and against the Buccaneers.
