LA County Sheriff's detectives have determined what caused Tiger Woods to drive over a median, across opposite traffic lanes, and roll over several times before coming to rest in dirt and brush in Rancho Palos Verdes.

But LA County Sheriff Alex Villanueva says the cause won't be made public unless they get Tiger's permission.

Earlier this month, Woods expressed thanks in a tweet for the support and encouragement he has received since his February crash. Woods was involved in an accident in February that included two leg fractures and a shattered ankle.

Woods is recovering in Florida from his injuries.

LA County Sheriff Alex Villanueva says he does not expect any legal action against the legendary golfer. Villanueva has said there is no evidence that Woods was impaired.

LASD did obtain a search warrant for the black box of the Genesis SUV Woods was driving when he crashed but the sheriff would not say what data was on the box, according to the AP.

Villanueva told AP Wednesday that “A cause has been determined, the investigation has concluded."
